No matter how flat organizations are today they still have structure and with structure comes power -- and often the abuse of it. I have wanted to take this topic on for some time, because I still see too many managers and ultimately the companies that they work for blame employees for lousy performance and missed goals. But I don't think it's their fault. In nearly every company I have ever come into contact with it's managerial dysfunction that has led the employees and the organization astray.

What You Need to Know Before the Interview	Where You’ll Find the Information
What the company sells	About Us page on the the company’s website
The company’s history	About Us page, LinkedIn Company Page or Wikipedia page (or conduct a Google search on the company name)
The bios of the leaders of the organization	About Us, Management, Leadership or Investor page on the company website
Who the organization’s competitors are	The company website is unlikely to include this information. Conduct a Google search on the company name, and also perform a Google search on the term (in quotation marks) “Competitors of [Acme Explosives]”
What the organization has been up to lately	Check out the Newsroom, Press or Media section of the company’s website, looking for recent press releases. Conduct a Google Web search and Google News search on the company name.
The background and communication style of your hiring manager and anyone else you’ll be interviewing with	Start with the company’s website and see whether your hiring manager has a bio and photo there. Next, jump to his or her LinkedIn profile and read every word. Notice your possible next boss’s interests, group affiliations, college alma mater(s) and connections. Look at the way he or she writes endorsements. Notice the way he or she has written his or her own profile. What is this person like? What does his or her photo tell you about him or her?
What your hiring manager is up against right now – his or her most likely Business Pain™	With the information you’ve already collected and synthesized, what do you imagine is keeping this hiring manager up at night? What’s his or her biggest problem? Are the IT systems failing to keep pace with the company’s growth, or is it likely that their Marketing materials aren’t meeting the needs of the salespeople in the field? If you can develop a Pain Hypothesis™ and bring it with you to the interview, you’ve got a great conversation-starter!

EDMUND OBILO SPEAKS ON SUSPENSION

 

Talented splash FM Presenter Edmund Obilo has confirmed that he was truly suspended by the management of the radio station.

Speaking with alarinkaagbaye.com in a telephone interview, Edmund said “it is true that I have been suspended , i am not sacked and i suspect it is politically motivated”

He said further " I am aware that some politicians are not happy with the way do treat issues on my programme and i am only doing my job, I have no problem with anybody and nobody ever told me that I offended him or her with my style of presentation,some people actually against me and they wanted me dismissed but i am only on suspension and my suspension has expiry time .

Ask when is he likely to return , Edmund said i will be travelling abroad any moment to rest and engage myself in some intellectual research .

Splash FM Fires One Of Their Best Broadcasters, On The Request Of The Oyo State Governor

Noted broadcaster, Edmund Obilo, had just aired an interview that exposed how the Alafin of Oyo, and the Oyo State governor, had allegedly been sharing the money belonging to the state, under the guise of fake contracts. A Nigerian House of representatives member, Kamil Akinlabi reveals this secret on “bull’s eye,” a popular radio interview program, anchored by Mr. Obilo.
The management of the Ibadan-based Splash FM, had shortly afterwards fired one of their best broadcasters, Mr. Edmund Obilo, on Friday on the request of the Oyo State governor, Mr. Abiola Ajimobi.

Femi Fani Kayode leaves APC, joins PDP as he blocks me on Twitter- Odekunle Ifemidayo

Controversial and outspoken two-time former minister Femi Fani Kayode has left the APC and explains why he left the party in a statement released this evening...see below...

I declared for the APC in June last year in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state well before the party was registered by INEC. I formally joined the party, amidst great fanfare, on 7th February 2014 in my hometown Ile-Ife and I registered my membership on that day. The registration was done outside the Ooni's palace and it was done in the prescence of the media, numerous party leaders in the state, including Hon. Rotimi Makinde, who represents Ile-Ife at the Federal House, and all the other key leaders of the APC in the state and Ife-Ife including Chief Akantioke and Alhaji Soko Adewoyin the former Deputy Governor of Osun state. After registering we proceeded to pay a courtesy call on my traditional ruler, the Ooni of Ife, and from there I went to spend a few days with Governor Rauf Aregbesola who, together with Governor Kayode Fayemi, I am close to and I consider to be friends.
