#BackToSender: APC is real threat to Nigeria’s security – Fayose’s Aide

Read the press statement below...

Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the real threat to the security of Nigeria and its people, saying; “The major threat to national security is a party that lost election since June 21, 2014 and still trying to get back to power, using crude means including turning itself to the mouthpiece of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Olayinka, who reacted to a statement by the APC in Ekiti State that the State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose was a threat to national security, said “it is only in Nigeria that a party that ran Ekiti State aground in four years and was rejected in six straight elections by the people can still be talking.” He said; “The question that Nigerians must ask the APC Spokesperson in Ekiti State, Taiwo Olatunbosun is whether he now doubles as the DSS spokesperson.

#TalkingFromExperience: On Kachikwu and Adesina - By Doyin Okupe

Former presidential aide Doyin Okupe shared this article on his Facebook page. Read below...

I am not APC and never will be. I am not looking for employment and certainly not in an APC government. I Dont believe in APC, its leadership or policies.
But at my age, with the over 35yrs experience I have gathered in Nigerian politics and haven served in the Presidency twice, I believe I should at all times, try and share whatever little knowledge I may have towards helping to build a better Nation no matter who is at the helm of the affairs.
Nigeria ,Nigerians and Stake holders cannot afford to standby allow errors to be made only to turn round later and use it for political gains.
Now back to the subject matter.

Fayose, threat to national security –APC

The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State has accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of conducting himself in a manner that threatens national security.
It said the governor’s recent utterances and actions suggested acts of sabotage targeted at rendering national institutions ineffective to perform their statutory roles for effective government.
The state Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said in a statement on Monday that Fayose’s unguided statements had exposed him as a man fighting a lone battle against the Federal Government.
He alleged that Fayose was nursing selfish motives to put millions of Nigerians in jeopardy of instability in an already tottering economy.

#PFAPlayerOfTheYearNominees My PFA players of the year by @Acidbej

With just seven matches and maximum 21 points obtainable, the 2015/2016 BPL season crown is Leicester City’s for the taking, *stills sounds odd every time I typed it*. Would love to take a look at 5 equally deserving players that I think rightly deserves the laurel.  The Professional Footballers' Association Players' Player of the Year (often called the PFA Players' Player of the Year, the Players' Player of the Year, or simply the Player of the Year) is an annual award given to the player who is adjudged to have been the best of the year in English football.

Here is a list of players that I think rightly deserves 12 months on the EPL’s throne. (Player, Age, Nationality)

Dimitri Payet, 28, France: Arguably one of the transfers of the season that saw the skillful French man move to the hammers from Marseille. He caught the attention of fans in his opening fixture display in a 2-0 victory over Arsenal at the Emirate Stadium. This midfield maestro makes up for this lack of physical presence with is slick left foot, set pieces and lethal right foot. His 8 goals and 8 assists been helpful in the hammers pursuit of a shoot of Europe football next season.

#USElection: 'She doesn't have stamina, He engages in bigotry & bullying'- Trump, Clinton and Ted Cruz trade insults at each other

U.S Presidential candidates Donald Trump, Hilary Clinton and Ted Cruz blasted each other on Monday night during an exclusive on-air interview with CNN. Although the trio weren't sat face to face, they still had a go at each other while interviewed by CNN's Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blitzer at the Aipac stage.

Hilary Clinton, launched her most direct attack yet on Donald Trump, accusing him of “bigotry and bluster and bullying” and inciting violence at all his campaign rallies.

While Texas senator Ted Cruz said even though he understands Trump's widespread support, his campaign is based on lies and he together with Clinton have traded influence in Washington.

While Trump offered a more subtle attack on rival Hilary Clinton saying she 'lacked stamina' to become president of America. Trump said, “I think she doesn’t have the stamina. You watch her life. You watch how she’ll go away three or four days; she’ll come back. Look, we’ve got to beat China in trade. We’ve got to beat Isis. We’ve got so many problems in this country; I say she does not have the stamina to be a good president ... doesn’t have the energy, she doesn’t have it. Doesn’t have the strength to be president, in my opinion.”

#WhatAreYouDoingAboutIt?? Reduction in salaries’ll curb do-or-die politics

The senator representing Bayelsa-East senatorial district, Ben Murray-Bruce, says the huge salary of politicians is responsible for electoral violence.
Murray-Bruce asked Nigerians to advocate for a reduction in salaries for political office holders.
Reacting to a statement credited to a former governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao-Akala, in which the former governor reportedly said he was happy to have lost in the last election because of the dwindling allocation to states, Murray-Bruce said it was apparent that money was the major reason why politicians contest elections.

The misogynists in the Nigerian Senate By Reuben Abati

What Senator Biodun Olujimi (PDP, Ekiti South) did with her presentation of a bill on gender and equal opportunities on March 15, is the equivalent of trying one’s luck. But she deserves praise for her courage and progressive views, and for forcing the issue so well.
The subject has generated useful debate and the Senate President has been forced to reassure the public that the bill will be re-presented, after it has been re-drafted “to address some of the reservations that were expressed on the floor of the Senate.”
This is the third time that the Senate will throw out this same bill.  Senate President Bukola Saraki knows too well that to address the expressed reservations is to kill the bill completely. There may be no hope of a misogynistic Senate passing a Bill that seeks to empower women and the girl-child, protect them from discrimination and violence, rescue them from being treated like chattel, and ensure that women play more prominent roles in public and private decision-making processes.  The Bill further seeks to protect the rights of women in marriages.

MIAMI  — Long before news broke that Marco Rubio had lost the Florida Republican primary on Tuesday and was suspending his campaign, even his biggest supporters had a feeling that their favorite Cuban-American son wasn't going to pull off the comeback they'd all been waiting for.
Gilbert Gonzalez voted for Rubio in the Cuban-American enclave of Hialeah early in the morning, but only to try and steal away some support from Trump. Ernesto Pereira also voted for Rubio, but only to shore up the senator's credentials as a possible running mate to the eventual Republican nominee.
"He's a good boy," said Clara Pereira, 66. "He just needs a little more experience."
