8 ways to shut down a ‘sucky’ argument

1. TAKE FIVEFighting can trigger the sympathetic nervous system, which shifts your body into fight or flight mode. Adrenaline courses through you at this time, making you less able to think logically. If you want to have an actual discussion (not a hell-raising blowout), your bod needs to be relaxed. Sometimes the only way to do this is to take a time out. Remember, if he needs to leave the situation, he’s trying to calm down too. It’s not about you.
2. USE “AND” INSTEAD OF “BUT”Once your bod is relaxed, start by acknowledging that you heard your guy and validate what he said. For example, “I understand that it may frustrate you when I spend too much money on clothes. I know we’re saving up to move in together.” When you validate his concern first, he’ll be more likely to relax and listen to you. When sharing your side, it’s better to start with an “and” instead of a “but.” When people hear “but,” they know they are about to be contradicted. Follow up with, “I hear your point, and I also feel that it’s important for me to be in control of how I spend my money. I needed new clothes to wear with my clients.” Recap: Always acknowledge their stance first, then say “and” before stating your own.
3. DITCH THE BIT__Y TEXTSWe get it. If you’ve been stewing about the fact that he still hasn’t asked his boss for that time off for the trip you’ve been planning, it’s tempting to fire back with a scathing text or epic email. But it’s best to put down your phone and take a walk before blindsiding him with a message you’ll most likely regret later.
4. KEEP IT CLEANBan any NSFW language and sarcasm from the disagreement since it automatically puts you both on the defensive. Picking at his sensitive spots just creates more animosity, and it won’t evoke any compassion from him.
5. LEAVE YOUR “FIGHT CATALOGUE” CLOSEDThe fight may have started because he was super late fordate night, but since you’re riled up, you also bring up his douchebag friend who is a total sexist and how it’s unfair of him to watch Netflix when you’ve had a bad day. This snowball effect distracts from the argument. If you tend to bring up past fights, your guy will never feel safe to say…pretty much anything. So focus on one complaint.
6. PICK YOUR BATTLESDo you really need to give him crap for catching Sunday night football with the guys instead of watching Homelandwith you? Probably not. If every little thing your bf does upsets you—like the way he brushes his teeth after breakfast instead of before— there might be a deeper issue. It’s time to assess your feelings for him and look at your relationship as a whole. Nitpicking isn’t the answer.
7. GIVE A LITTLECompromise is key. If your guy feels like he’s always giving in, he’ll start to resent you. Think of what you actually “need” from him. If something you want is not really essential to your relationship happiness, learn to let it go. When he sees that you’re willing to give in sometimes (especially if you don’t typically do it), he’ll be more likely to compromise too.
8. SHOW SOME APPRECIATIONIf you want something in your relationship to change, it’s important to acknowledge what you appreciate about your man first. That will calm his anxiety and help him feel more receptive to what’s bothering you. He stays calm. Your feelings are heard. It’s a win-win situation.

How to spot a liar: 8 ways to know he’s lying

1. “LEFT”When he uses this word (think: “I left the bar at six” vs. “I went home at six”), there’s some kind of drama involved. Maybe he got stuck in traffic or is hiding something he did that he shouldn’t have.
2. ”NEVER”The big thing to look out for is when he says “never” when “no” will do. It’s a sign he’s overcompensating. For example, if you ask, “Did you just look at that girl’s butt?” and he says, “Never!”
3. ”THAT”Like never, it depends on how he uses it. If he puts “that” in front of a noun, like “that woman” or “that money,” it’s a subconscious attempt for him to distance himself from the word. This is a common trick of manipulators.
4. “WOULD”If he skips “no” and goes straight to “I would never do something like that!” when talking about a past event, be wary. For example, “Are you still talking to your ex?” “I would never do that to you!” “Would never” suggests that he plans to do it in the future.
5. “YES, MA’AM”If your guy is a Southern gentleman, then this doesn’t apply. But if he suddenly says “ma’am” to you out of nowhere, be cautious. It’s a sign that he’s feeling stressed and knows he’s in trouble.
6. “BY THE WAY…”Liars use phrases like this to try to minimize what they say next—but usually it’s what’s most important to the story. Pay extra attention to what he says afterward.
7. “BUT”Liars usually try to downplay what they say with this word, so pay attention when he says something like, “I know this is going to sound strange, but…” or “I know you think I’m lying, but…”
8. “WHY WOULD I DO THAT?”It’s a favorite stalling line of liars, so they can buy a little time to work out what to say next. These phrases also fit the bill: “What kind of person do you think I am?”, “Are you calling me a liar?”, and “I knew this was going to happen to me!”

Grammar of LIFE

When you speak to Caucasians of English origin, how do they react to you?
My friends that are whites simply marvel and sometimes get maniacally bewildered when we engage, most times to my consternation.
Do you think that you understand English language better than the owners of the language?
I have never had the ambition to know the English language more than the owners. However,  I must mention that they are shocked most times to find out several words from me they never heard of that existed in the dictionary. Yet, those words are supposed to be theirs. Na so we see am.
Have you ever met with the Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka? And what’s your opinion of him?
Professor Wole Soyinka is an international personality. It’s either you have met him personally or by reputation. He is a great man and I enjoy reading him anytime, any day.
Can you ever be caught speaking what many would consider as normal English?
I speak in plain Ceasers language or what you call the normal language and let me tell you that I will hold my own even in pidgin conversation. No just try me at all at all o.
What is your take on the ongoing crisis in the PDP?
The crisis in PDP? All I can say is that I join some people to dey laugh o and he be like say my laugh go tay well well o.
Are you likely to contest for a political office?
I am still in politics, serving the good and amiable people of Edo State. Being the Chief of Staff to the comrade governor is in itself an art of daily political engineering.
Do you look forward to developing your own dictionary?
My own dictionary? I have never really given that a thought, but there is a young man in one of our universities who travelled all the way to meet me in Benin. His doctoral thesis is on “Obahiagbonism as a style of language.”
You seem to mix English with other languages…
On mixing of languages; that comes with reading omnivorously. You cannot but pick these words here and there if you have an audacious reading culture.
Is any of your children like you?
My children are still growing but I petition the celestial choir and cosmic hosts to give them the gift of kissing the hybla bee.
What is your favourite quote?
One of my favorite quotes is from the sapiential mind of the late Ikene philosopher, Papa Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, when he was quoted as saying that, “the greatest glory is not in never falling but to rise up after a fall.”
Are you planning to contest in 2015?
I always feel flattered and smile with delight when I hear positive commentary on my tenure at the National Assembly and the wish of Nigerians to see me back at the National Assembly. I am humbled but as a student of mysticism, nothing happens in my life by accident. I am a robot in the hands of God and from that point of view therefore, 2015 would take care of itself. All my efforts just now my brother is geared towards complementing the efforts of the comrade governor in the total transmogrification of Edo State which is enough to chew at the moment. Let me however use this opportunity of your question to appreciate my numerous admirers all over the world.
How are you coping with the Governor of Edo State, knowing that the two of you have strong personalities?
When two or more personages are united only by the bonds of rendering service, that in itself becomes an agglutinating fragrance. In any case, I am very clear that Comrade Oshio Baba is the Governor of Edo State and I am his privileged Chief of Staff. So we are working together very harmoniously and in an ambience of conviviality in our unstoppable desire in taking Edo State to the next level.

10+1 things every woman should know by age 25

1. Get a Clarisonic.
Oh my God, doooo it. It’s like a weird vibrator-shaped electric toothbrush for your face, and cleans ten times better than your hands or a washcloth. I’m not getting paid to say this. Every beautiful girl I know has one, and also me. You’ll never look back.
2. Cut the social fat.
That one friend of your ex who’s kind of boring but always wanted to have sex with you so he usually picks up the drinks tab? Stop texting him back. That former Goth girl from your high school who’s constantly got baby pictures popping up on your timeline? Unfriend. Keep a core group close and drop the rest. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
3. Stop judging your friend(s) dickhead(s) fiancee.
You may not have liked that she was dating a dickhead, but now they’re engaged, and you are no longer allowed to be vocal about how much he sucks. She loves him. Maybe that is because he is a short, American-Eagle-polo-wearing warlock who cast a spell on her, but she loves him. Get them a folding chair from their registry on The Knot and keep your mouth shut.
4. Buy a full bed!
If you haven’t already. I slept on a twin bed until I was 24, and the day I got a full bed was the day I went from Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman to “Kind of a woman, if you ask me on a day when I don’t feel bloated.” After 4 years of post-college scrimping, it is more than okay to start spending money on your quality of life — in fact, it’ll improve almost every other area.
5. Stop not knowing when your period is coming.
That is what the calendar on your phone is for. Put a regular cycle alert in your phone that is like “I’m Bleeding.
6. Not everybody has to wear foundation.
Often we carry on old beauty routines for years (hello, L.A. Looks hair gel) without realizing that they actually might be unnecessary, or even making our skin worse. No matter how bad your skin might be, slapping seven obvious layers of flesh-toned drywall on your face is probably not an improvement. Try BB cream or a tinted moisturizer?
7. Make the transition from talking sh_t to doing sh_t.
Think about all the times you have moaned to a co-worker about how unhappy at work you are, or to a friend about how miserable you are with your boyfriend. We talk shit because it’s easy, comfortable and cathartic — but nobody will know, and nothing will change, until you speak up. You are not the Little Mermaid. There is no weird animated crab to communicate your feelings to the people in your life, unless there is, and give me one.
8. Invest in a black blazer.
Dude! Zara has some good, cheapish pieces. That is where I got mine.
9. Date a type of dude you never would have dated before.
Still single, and not by choice? Then the guys you were going out with were not working out for you.
10. I’ve said it before, and I will say it again.
Stop worrying.Everything will work itself out. The best thing you can do for your future — or at least waiting for your future to start — is to breathe and stop being such an unforgiving asshole to yourself. Oh, and also the whole “not perioding all over your bed” thing.
This last point is the best and the most important above all. you have to take it serious.
11. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour...
Let him direct you and your life... He knows the best. Focus on him.

DEAR MEN, 7 Ways To Keep Your Man-Hood Health

You can take steps to protect your man-hood health and overall health. For example:
1. Be sexually responsible. If you are not married, abstinence is the key. Use condoms and be faithful to your partner who’s been tested and is free of sexually transmitted infections.
2. Get vaccinated. If you’re age 26 or younger, consider the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to help prevent private part warts.
3. Stay physically active. Moderate physical activity can significantly reduce your risk of erectile dysfunction.
4. Practice good hygiene. If you’re not circumcised, regularly clean beneath your foreskin with soap and water.
5. Know your medications. Discuss medication use and possible side effects with your doctor.
6. Pay attention to your mental health. Seek treatment for depression and other mental health conditions.
7. Stop smoking and limit the amount of alcohol you drink. If you smoke, take the first step and decide to quit — then ask your doctor for help.
8. Above all, know your God... He is the great healer and counselor
Remember, some man-hood problems can’t be prevented. However, routinely examining your man-hood can give you greater awareness of the condition of your man-hood and help you detect changes. Regular checkups can also help ensure that problems affecting your man-hood are diagnosed as soon as possible.
While you might find it difficult to discuss problems affecting your man-hood with your doctor, don’t let embarrassment prevent you from taking charge of your health.

Best pick up lines ever: how to get his or her attention

Black-couple-date
Best Pick Up Lines for Guys
1. Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk by once more?
2. Do you have sore feet from running through my dreams all night long?
3. Damn it, my phone is broken. It doesn’t have your phone number in it!
4. I lost my phone number, can I have yours?
5. I think you look a lot like someone. Like my next girlfriend, that is.
6. People call me X, but you may call me Tonight.
7. Would you go to bed with a stranger? No? Then hello, my name is…
8. I’m not a photographer, but I can definitely picture us together.
9. Are you going to give me a kiss or do I have to make that part up?
You probably know by now that there are no set-in-stone rules when it comes to picking up women. A pick up line that works like a charm for a type of gal might get you a slap in the face from another.
But if you want to make sure your chances stand high, you may want to take a look at the following choices, listed as some of the best pick up lines ever.
And remember: whatever you say, it should sound natural, not phony. And if you gathered up the courage to approach that gal, well, then make sure you are full of confidence all the way (even if that means covering your shaky legs and hands!).
And let’s not forget about cheesy: gals dig that, even if they state the contrary. Just as long as it is the right kind of cheesy – and definitely not the creepy, sick kind!
Last but not least, an almost sure way to get a girl to give you a chance is to make her laugh. So play the funny card – if your pick up line is witty enough, you stand a good chance of taking her on a first date.
Do you think the best pick up lines are still a bit far-fetched? Then play the simplicity and honesty card and go for pick up lines of the sort:
10. I think you are beautiful.
11. Do you want to go out for a drink?
12. Do you want to dance?

Best Pick Up Lines for Girls
More often than not, girls wait for guys to make the first move. But that sometimes can lead you nowhere. So, if you lay eyes on a hot guy that you won’t see again unless you do something about it, take the bull by the horns and approach him!
The best pick up lines should make you feel comfortable saying them out loud (if you cringe at the thought of saying them, you’d better drop it and go for something else) and make the other person – the hot guy, that is – at least smile.
Of course, if you’re a self confident, powerful gal, you may try bold pick up lines – just as long you’re sure they won’t intimidate your ‘target’.
So, if you lack inspiration, here are some of the best pick up lines you could go for:
1. Are you good at maths? If so, could you replace my X without asking Y?
2. I’m not tipsy, I’m just intoxicated by you.
3. Do you see my friend over there? She wants to know if you think I’m cute.
4. If I’d say you’re cute/hot, would you hold it against me?
Under the best pick up lines label could also go some more natural icebreakers, such as
5. “Do you come here often?” or maybe even a more daring
6. “Do you care to buy me a drink?”.
Whatever pick up lines you go for, try to avoid going to extremes – unless all that you want is a one night stand. Sometimes, all you have to do is be yourself, put on your gorgeous smile, make eye contact and let things follow their natural course.

Are you Smart Enough??? Check this out!!

The Einstein Puzzle – Who Owns the Fish?
ARE YOU IN THE TOP 2% OF INTELLIGENT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD? SOLVE THE RIDDLE AND FIND OUT.
There are 5 houses in 5 different colors. In each house lives a man with a different nationality. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, nor drink the same beverage.
The Brit lives in the red house. TheSwede keeps dogs as pets. The Dane drinks tea. The green house is on the left of the white house. The green house's owner drinks coffee.
The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill. The man living in the center house drinks milk.
The Norwegian lives in the first house. The man who smokesBlends lives next to the one who keeps cats. The man who keeps the horse lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill. The owner who smokes Bluemasters drinks beer.
The German smokes Prince. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house. The man who smokes Blends has a neighbor who drinks water. Who owns the fish? It is said that Albert Einstein wrote this Logic Puzzle quiz. As the Legend goes, Dr. Einstein said that 98% of the world could not figure it out. He believed only 2% of all humans had the ability to solve his puzzle. Are you smart enough to be one of the few?

Welcome To America, Pres. Jonathan By Rudolf Ogoo Okonkwo

Dear President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, PhD, GCFR: Welcome to America, Mr. President. I’m glad you are not just in America but you are, as we say here in Brooklyn, in my neck of the woods.
I’m sorry I have not been able to come to see you. I’ve been kind of busy, you know. It may surprise you to know that in this part of the world, there is no free lunch. The best that I’ve seen is buy one and get one free. I actually wanted to pull my kids out of school to have them line up on 7th Avenue to wave the Nigerian flag as you pass. But their teachers threatened to call social services and have them taken away from me by the state for neglect.
I’m trying to eke out a living over here. I’ve tried several times to see if President Obama will give me an oil block but I’m consistently told it won’t happen. I’ve even donated $50 dollars here and there to the Democratic Party but the man just sends me thank you notes. Na thank you me and my family go chop?
Anyway, how has your visit been so far? I understand that you have been having a great time. You drive around well paved roads with closed sewage systems; you enjoy constant supply of light without the sound of generators hurting your ears; and you breathe air that is not polluted by poisonous gases coming off generators. I’m sure that the water pressure from your presidential suite’s bathroom shower is powerful. No houseboy is needed to carry a bucket of water upstairs for you.
I know that you have no need for it, but if you try the stove in your kitchen there, gas will come out. No need carrying gas cylinders around. Just so you know, these things do not happen only in expensive hotels like yours. It happens even in the poorest part of Alabama and Tennessee.
I know what you will say- Rome was not built in a day. Yes. It’s the usual excuse that I hear. Please do me a favor, when you come back from listening to the First Lady address African First Ladies, please tune to History channel on your TV. You will see that when America was 53 years old, it had structure and strategic planning and was guided by ethical people who had purpose and love for country. If age makes all the difference, how come Mexico is where it is today while America is somewhere else? How long ago did Haiti gain its independence compared to Sweden?
I had wanted to ask if you have had the chance to go into New York City’s subway, but then I remembered that you move around the city in a limo. The network was built over a century ago and continues to be expanded and upgraded. It moves 2 million New Yorkers around every day. It was not abandoned soon after the opening ceremony the way Abuja National Stadium was for which you needed to spend N300 million to renovate.
I’m sure you breezed through the Central Park. That is a modern wonder of nature reserve. It has been preserved there for over a century. No politician has sliced it up and given to his wife and business associates.  In a city where land is more expensive than gold, the 1317 square miles of space, at $1000 a square foot, is worth over 39 trillion dollars. Mouthwatering, isn't it?
Anyway, I saw you on MSNBC as you rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange yesterday. Cool. It must have felt good.  Olusegun Obasanjo, despite all his garagara, never got the chance to hold that hammer and strike. I’m happy for you. I’m happy that you have seen where Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke did her internship. Where she learned all the abracadabra she implemented at our stock exchange.
I’m really sorry I could not make it to the luncheon you had with Nigerian professionals on Sunday. Well, do you want to know why? Your ambassadors told me that the dog ate my invitation. I guess that’s diplomatic speak for “enemy of the state.” I understand that it went very well. You came, you saw, you mesmerized. A friend of mine who was there told me that you made it clear that your enemies must allow you to govern because you won the election.
I feel your pain. If I were around, I would have told you to ask President Obama how things have been for him when you met him on Monday. He, too, won- twice. Yet, some still do not believe he is a legitimate president. Some still demand that he shows his original birth certificate before he is allowed into the White House. There are people in the US Congress who have dedicated the rest of their careers to oppose anything Obama supports. They do everything to undermine laws like Obamacare. But Obama is not going about complaining that they must allow him to govern. He is governing. He understands that it comes with the territory.
You know what, try turning on that TV in your $9000 a night hotel room. Tune to Fox news. Watch it for just 30 seconds and tell me what you think? I bet you, after watching Fox news for one hour, you will never say that you’re the most criticized president in the world. Imagine Obama, acting like you by not making public his assets, he would have been ran out of town- impeached and banished to Hawaii.
I understand that you told Obama during your meeting with him that he must help fix Nigeria. Ok, Mr. President, I guess people around you did not tell you this. This is America, Jack. Here we refrain from using “must.” The use of “must” almost always illicits the response, “who the F…  do you think you are?”
The world may be broken but for Obama’s people, it’s been a pretty good life. If you doubt me, just check their life expectancy and compare it to ours. He must not fix Africa for his world to keep rolling. He must not fix Nigeria for his world to keep rising. It’s you, the man “we” elected, who must fix Nigeria. That’s why we elected you. You start it, pursue it with all your might, and then, if you need help, maybe Obama can help you. You don’t say that you know corrupt people in Nigeria but won’t mention their names because they will attack you and then beg Obama to come and fix Nigeria. Common, man!
I was told that you will be speaking at the United Nations today. You will speak on behalf of the government and people of Nigeria. I hope you don’t mind if I tell you something to say since you will be speaking on my behalf, too.
Each year you join other world leaders to troop into New York City to make a speech in that US National Security Agency bugged chamber. A speech nobody in this chamber will remember even before you get back to your seat. Even though the world media is there, they will not print any word that you say there today. For them, your presence there is just for the fulfillment of all righteousness.
Your large entourage of aides and hangers-on will justify the hundreds of thousands of taxpayers’ dollars you spent to bring them here by going into meetings and bilateral talks with other nations of the world. You tell us that you are bringing investments, aids, capacity building to our people at home by striking deals with investors and governments across the globe. We have done this for over fifty years. When will you stand up and say to the world that it’s time we stopped deceiving ourselves.
You know that they expect you to restate how you plan to collaborate with the international communities to pursue peace in Africa and around the world. They expect you to talk about our fight against terrorism in Nigeria and how it fits into the global war against terror. They also expect you to say the mandatory banality about the scourge of corruption in Nigeria and what you are doing about it. And, of course, they are looking forward to hearing you talk about poverty alleviation and how to lift millions of our people out of poverty and into the middle class.
Are you not tired of playing this game of words with them?  When will you get out of the business of setting goals that you know are not going to be met in millenniums yet to come? Are you not tired of delivering platitudes to a people who desire concrete results?
Sir, please, do me a favor, tell them that you’re not the brightest crayon in the box. It’s important else they brand Nigeria on the basis of your performance.
I wish you all the best. I’ll try and stop by after work. Maybe we can go to Aso Rock Restaurant  in Queens, New York and eat fufu and egusi soup. Are you coming?
Yours truly,
Fellow Nigerian citizen

FULL TRANSCRIPT Of President Goodluck Jonathan's Speech At The UN General Assembly

The President of the 68th Session of the General Assembly;
Heads of State and Government;
The Secretary-General;
Distinguished Delegates;
Ladies and Gentlemen
Mr President,
1.    On behalf of the Government and People of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I salute you as you preside over the 68th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.  I assure you of the full support and cooperation of the Nigerian delegation.
2.    I also wish to extend our commendation to the Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon, and place on record, Nigeria’s appreciation for his focused and committed leadership of the United Nations system.
3.    This Session is coming at a particularly trying period when our world faces a number of critical challenges which make it imperative for us to work within the Charter of the United Nations to meaningfully address them.
4.    It is therefore apt that the theme, Post 2015 Development Agenda:  Setting the Stage, signposts our desire and determination to actively cooperate for the improvement of the overall welfare and well-being of the most vulnerable citizens of the member-states of our Organisation.
5.    Nigeria appreciates the consultative nature of designing the Post-2015 development agenda. Earlier in the year, we supported this global outreach through inclusive consultations and surveys of a number of Nigerians who have expressed their aspirations with respect to the world they expect beyond 2015.
6.    A major highlight of this process, which has increased national ownership of the agenda, is the emphasis on the eradication of poverty as the overarching principle in the formulation of the successor framework.
7.    Indeed, tomorrow, we will be hosting a side event on the implementation of the MDGs, in collaboration with the UN, a number of African countries, and our development partners.
8.    As I had cause to say to this Assembly last Session, 2015 is not a destination but only a milestone to a better, safer, healthier and more compassionate world.  Let us therefore renew our commitment to the processes that will develop the post-MDGs framework.
Mr. President,
9.    This objective is of particular resonance to us in Africa where the challenges of poverty, illiteracy, food insecurity, and climate change continue to engage the attention of the political leadership.
10.    The good news however, is that in the last decade, a sustained democratization process across the continent has made significant difference in governance processes, institutions and structures.  Today, we have a renascent Africa that has moved away from the era of dictatorship to a new dawn where the ideals of good governance and an emphasis on human rights and justice are beginning to drive state-society relations. This is the present reality of Africa that must replace the old prejudices and assumptions about the continent.
11.    We are firm in our conviction that democracy is fundamental to achieving the requisite stability that will enable the realization of a sustainable post-2015 development agenda in Africa.
12.    This emergent Africa will require the continued support and partnership of the international community.  An Africa that is no longer merely a destination for aid but one that is involved in constructive, multi-sectoral exchanges on the global stage.  Our continent stands ready to continue to engage the rest of the world as a partner in formulating a global development agenda that will guarantee peace, security and stability.
13.    I wish to express my appreciation for Nigeria’s selection as co-Chair of the Expert Committee on Financing Sustainable Development.
14.    The importance of this Committee’s assignment cannot be overstated. For the post-2015 development agenda to be realistic, it must be backed by a robust financing framework which I hope will receive the strong backing of our Organisation’s more endowed members.
Mr. President,
15.    Nigeria’s commitment to sustainable peace and security propels the country to action along with member states of our sub-regional and continental organisations, whenever stability is threatened in our continent.  In recent years, Africa has had its share of conflicts notably in Mali, Guinea-Bissau, Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic and Somalia.
16.    It is noteworthy that African leaders, with the support of the international community, have demonstrated the capacity to work in concert and decisively in pursuit of long-term solutions in the affected States. While a lot more still needs to be done, we are convinced that progress is being made.
17.    The recent Presidential elections in Mali herald a new beginning that should translate into peace and prosperity for its people and provide a stronger basis for stability within the sub-region.  I congratulate President Boubacar Keita. Similarly, the political transition process in Guinea Bissau holds much promise. Among African leaders, there is a greater determination and focus on the transformation of the continent. This is the required impetus for the achievement of development objectives
that will benefit the people, and rebrand the continent even more positively.
18.    Although our world has not witnessed a global war since the establishment of the United Nations, there have been several conflicts with devastating consequences and impact in virtually all regions of the world.  As global citizens, we have a sacred duty to free our world of wars, rivalries, ethnic conflicts, and religious divisions.  Our collective effort in our drive for a better world will continue to bind us together.
Mr. President,
19.    Nigeria continues to support the efforts of the United Nations in addressing the global initiative to combat the menace of the illicit trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons. We have redoubled efforts to address this onerous challenge within our borders and across the West African sub-region.
20.    In doing so, we also recognize the need for a broad-based global partnership in the on-going battle against trans-border crimes, including terrorism and acts of piracy. It is regrettable that these scourges are sustained by unfettered access by non-state actors to illicit small arms and light weapons with which they foster insecurity and instability across our continent. For us in Africa, these are the ‘weapons of mass destruction’!
21.    It is therefore, in the light of our collective obligation and unceasing struggle to end this nightmare, that I congratulate Member-States on the adoption of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) in April this year.  Our hope is that upon its entry into force, the ATT would herald an era of accountable trade in conventional arms which is critical to the security of nations.
22.    In line with our continued commitment to this project, Nigeria has signed and ratified the Treaty.  We will continue to engage other Member-States for its successful implementation.
Mr. President,
23.    Terrorism constitutes a major threat to global peace and security, and undermines the capacity for sustained development.  In Nigeria, the threat of terrorism in a few States in the North Eastern part of our country has proven to be a challenge to national stability.  We will spare no effort in addressing this menace.  We are therefore confronting it with every resource at our disposal with due regard for fundamental human rights and the rule of law.

24.    Nigeria will like to place on record its appreciation to the international community for its support in this regard.  The reign of terror anywhere in the world is an assault on our collective humanity.  Three days ago, the stark reality of this menace was again brought to the fore by the dastardly terrorist attack in Nairobi, Kenya. We must stand together to win this war together.
Mr. President,
25.    Piracy, like terrorism, is another menace that has attained worrisome proportions, especially in Africa’s coastal waters. At the bilateral and multilateral levels, Nigeria has promoted cooperation to mitigate its impact and consequences on the security and economies of the affected coastal states.
26.    Indeed, in June this year, the leaders of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and the Gulf of Guinea Commission met in Yaounde, Cameroon, and came up with practical steps to collectively confront the menace of piracy in the Gulf of Guinea.  This effort will, no doubt, require reinforcement and wider support and collaborative action on the part of our international partners.
Mr. President,
27.    The situation in the Middle East remains volatile.  The reported use of chemical weapons in the Syrian crisis, is unacceptable.  Nigeria condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the use of chemical weapons that are prohibited by International Conventions.

28.    We applaud the current diplomatic efforts to avert further escalation of the crisis.  We urge all parties involved to end the violence and seek a negotiated solution, including the instrumentality of the United Nations.
29.    The threat which nuclear weapons pose to the survival of the human race is to be understood not just in the context of aspirational nations but also the nations already in possession of such weapons. Nuclear weapons are as unsafe in the hands of small powers as they are in the hands of the major powers. It is our collective responsibility to urge the international community to respond to the clarion call for a peaceful universe in an age of uncertainty.
30.    We can attain this objective if we adopt measures and policies that will promote nuclear disarmament, protect and renew our environment, and push towards an international system that is based on trust, mutual respect and shared goals.
Mr. President,
31.    I believe that I express the concern of many about the slow pace of effort and apparent lack of progress in the reform of the United Nations, especially the Security Council.  We believe strongly, that the call for democratization worldwide should not be for States only, but also, for International Organizations such as the UN.  That is why we call for the democratization of the Security Council.
32.    This is desirable for the enthronement of justice, equity, and fairness; and also for the promotion of a sense of inclusiveness and balance in our world.
33.    Our support for the United Nations Security Council in its primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security has been total and unwavering.  We have, in previous membership of the Council, demonstrated both the political will and capacity to engage in key Council responsibilities.  Nigeria has therefore decided to seek election for the 2014-2015 Non-Permanent Seat of the UNSC.
34.    I am pleased to state that Nigeria has received the endorsement of the Economic Community of West African States and the African Union.  We urge this august Assembly to endorse Nigeria’s candidature.
Mr. President,
35.    Our world continues to be confronted by pressing problems and threats.  No statement that will be made during this Session can exhaust the extent of these problems.  The world looks to us, as leaders, to provide hope in the midst of crisis, to provide guidance through difficult socio-political divisions, and to ensure that we live in a better world.
36.    We have obligations to the present generation, but we have a greater obligation to generations yet unborn who should one day inherit a world of sufficiency irrespective of the circumstances of their birth or where they reside on the globe.  We must work to make that world a reality in recognition of our common heritage.
37.    We must strive to eradicate poverty, hunger, disease and human misery; we must eliminate the scourge of nuclear, chemical, biological, as well as small arms and light weapons. We must dedicate ourselves to working together to address global, regional and national challenges and deliver a more peaceful, equitable and prosperous world for all.  It is our duty.  We must not fail.
38.    I thank you.

Give Your Man Enough Bedroom Food, No Girl Can Snatch Him ––Says Aisha Falode

She is fondly called the First Lady of Sport Journalism. Aisha Falode, who now anchors a popular talk show that focuses on the home, sure knows how to do her things in the male-dominated industry. In a recent chat, she confessed that she now know better what men really want and that if she ever get married again, no lady will be able to snatch her man. Below is what she said:

There has been the argument over what really helps to keep the home. Is it food or s*x?

See no pretences. If you talk to 10 men, 90.9 per cent of them, that is almost a 100 per cent, will tell you that what goes on in the bedroom is much more important than what is in the plate on the table. Talk to them. That is what they go after when they go after girlfriends. The girlfriends don’t cook for them. It is what they do with these men that take the men to them. Let’s don’t pretend as women.

Be creative. ‘Daddy, it’s me and you tonight.’ Recreate that old time and they will enjoy it. Even when they are in the process of straying, they remember that my wife can give me what I want. Even if they want to, they are held back because the woman is fantastic, and they are wondering why they are wasting their time with these small, small girls.

Forget about food. Although it is also important, those people they are going out to see are not cooking for them. That is the truth. Let’s be frank about it. Perhaps, if I was as matured as I am when I got married, I could keep my home. But I wasn’t mature. If I get a second chance today, God help the lady that will come and take my place. She will have to toil for it.

This is the time for women to wake up. Keep your relationship. Keep your man, whatever it takes. What is it that he is going to look for outside? I will give him double at home. This is what men want. We brought them to the programme on how to sustain your marriage, and they told us verbatim. Forget about the food. It is the food in the bedroom that is more important. Maybe in the days of our mothers, you know they were traditionalists, they were not adventurous.

Men Are Like Dogs: The 3 Types Of Ladies That Nigerian Men Will Quickly Notice – Toyin Oloyide

1. The woman with the nicest body. If your stomach sticks out further than your breasts, or your butt, you have automatically been disqualified. That is not attractive. The winner will always be the woman who is fit/thin with either a large and perky butt, or very large br3asts. If the woman is blessed to have both a large butt and large br3ast on a fit/thin frame, she will triumph over the rest of the women.

2. The most stylish woman. Ladies, please be careful with the way you dress. There are ways to dress for attention that will still show people that you are a very respectable woman. Remember, when you are in a group of women your main goal is to be the FIRST one to catch the man’s eye.

You have to be the first to stand out, if you are not the first to stand out, another woman’s ONE eye catching quality will outshine all that you have to offer. Make sure you are dressed nice from head to toe. Also, dress in BRIGHT colors. Men are like dogs, when they see bright clothing, or shiny jewelry, it will catch their eye. That’s what you need, once you catch eye, it’s up to you to make it work.

3. The quiet one. If you are outshined in dressing, if you are outshined in beauty, if you are outshined in body type, you have to use your WIT. You may think that the best way would be to open your mouth, and try and over talk everyone else to make sure that you get attention. Sure, you’ll get attention, but I guarantee you it will not be the kind of attention that you want.

When you are quiet, and I mean QUIET. Say NOTHING. When the guys are talking to your friends. Act uninterested. Make sure you stay around the group. But act uninterested, use your eyes to catch eye contact with the man you find interesting. But have BLANK stare. In fact, catch his eye.

Blink once or twice, with an expressionless face. And I PROMISE you, he will be curious about you. Say NOTHING. Your strength is in your mystery. Everyone will want to know about you. Because you have not readily displayed yourself. Remember, your strength is in your MYSTERY. He’ll know you’re thinking something.

He won’t know WHAT. He won’t know if you are judging him. He won’t know if you are admiring him. It is important to keep your expression BLANK. Make sure that he cannot read your emotions. Practice this in the mirror before attempting to use this tactic.

My question is, guys, is this all true?!

She is Caroline Sam by name but in the entertainment industry, she is simply known as Maheeda or 'Oko Yapian'. This beautiful lady has met Christ, she is now a new creature in Christ but her recent pictures online maybe saying contrary.

In an interview recently, Maheeda who has just release a gospel song titled 'Superman' admitted that despite been married to a Dutch who has blessed her with a posh home in Lekki and a good car, she's always going out to run after other men! Call it fornication and you're not far from the truth.

"Even after getting married I still have this urge of going out to meet a man. But I felt it should not be so. I am trying to let people know there is a spirit behind prostitution, If not, why after getting married, I have everything, I live in Lekki, I am driving a very big car and my husband gives me whatever I want, so why would I still feel like going into prostitution?

There is a spirit behind it. I continued prostitution even after getting married. The only thing that changed me was being born again and being delivered," she explodes.

Chek out her sexy pictures here! Hmmm, God is good!
