Another disappointing display last week scoring just
46points. The pressure to get back Kun-Aguero mounts but budget hinders. Let's
take a look at players that that would earn valuable points while u still stale
your wildcard.
BUY
Alexis Sanchez (MID), Arsenal, £11.1m
Alexis Sanchez attracting around 140,000 transfers as of the
time of this article. After a slow start the Chilean is finding his stride
delivering double points in 3 of the last 4 game weeks standing tall (well, as
much as he can) with 46 points just behind KDB. His traditionally explosive
nature – as opposed to a more moderate but also more consistent point hauls –
coupled with Arsenal’s kind schedule makes him very difficult to resist.
Daley Blind (DEF), Manchester United, £5.6m
Most bought Defender this week is Daley Blind with around
75,000 Net Transfers In so far. Despite losing out on a clean sheet from Gray’s
wonder-strike, Blind still managed to score 10 FPL points delivering 2 assists
and 2 bonus points. Watching the game itself it was easy to be impressed with
the accuracy, pace and swerve of his corner takes, and with so many corners
being wasted these days Blind proved that with the right delivery a team can
win a match solely from corners!
The Dutchman’s class should not surprise us; Blind won
Ajax’s ‘player of the year’ playing as left back and the following year won the
Eredivise ‘player of the year’ from the central midfield position scoring one
assist and one solitary goal: they must be getting high on interceptions and
clearances up there in Amsterdam.
SELL
Erik Lamela (MID), Tottenham, £6.9m
Having commenced the new campaign in such admirable and
brilliant form, Lamela has cooled off considerably. The midfielder has now
started the past three Premier League fixtures from the substitute bench,
occurrences that should scream out with vigor “SELL NOW” to those still owning
him. With the meteoric rise of Son’s form to go along with Spurs’ overall solid
form as of late, it is difficult to envision Lamela regaining a starting role
in the coming weeks for now.
Despite showing decent movement and lovely creativity coming
off from the bench (could have scored a tap-in had a teammate squared a ball
inside the box rather than going along against Middlesbrough last week),
without ninety minutes secured on a weekly basis, it makes no sense to invest.
The Argentine did score midweek in the Champions League, but it is still
unlikely to see him start this weekend. And suppose Lamela does start, Spurs face
the monumental side known as Manchester City, a game that hardly provides any
confidence… Stay away from Lamela!
Ross Barkley (MID), Everton, £7.5m
In what appears to be a serious case of Pogba-itis, yet
another prominent box-to-box midfielder is struggling to scrape together FPL
returns. The original conceiver of the disease finally rid himself of his “bug”
and found his way onto the scoresheet, but Barkley seems to be resigned to
still being under the weather. All jokes aside, the English midfielder has
ceased to provide any points apart from a single goal in the opening round of
fixtures. Everton has enjoyed a nice start to their season, having only picked
up their first loss last week at Bournemouth, but have depended on goals from
several different players. Being positioned in the hole behind Lukaku, Barkley
is being afforded plenty of chances to achieve a breakthrough (four shots and
most touches out of any Toffee attacker), though has not found the back of the
net in recent weeks
