#GucciGang: There is a gang-up by some APC members to remove me as the National Chairman – Oshiomhole

There is a gang-up by some APC members to remove me as the National Chairman ? Oshiomhole

National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole, has accused some top ranking members of the party of frustrating his plans to reposition it, alleging a gang-up on their part to remove him from office.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Simon Ebegbulem, Oshiomhole assured that the party under him was in safe hands as it marches, sure-footed, to victory in the 2019 general election.

In the last few weeks, some party leaders and state governors have accused Oshiomole of high handedness. Members of the Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee, NWC, have been accusing the National chairman of treating them as errand boys and summoning them to statutory meetings of the party in his private office.

One of the party’s presidential aspirants, Alhaji Mumakai Unagha, over the weekend, granted an interview with Saturday Vanguard, and said that the party will find it difficult to win the forthcoming general election with Oshiomhole as national chairman.
“I am worried if the party can still win in the midst of the problems we have under Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. He has to resign for the party to clinch victory in the forthcoming election,”Unagha said
Responding to Unagha's claim, Oshiomhole said

#AwonPeaceMaker: Archbishop Kukah denies endorsing Atiku Abubakar, says he was in Abeokuta to witness the reconciliation

Archbishop Kukah denies endorsing Atiku Abubakar, says he was in Abeokuta to witness the reconciliation

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Reverend Matthew Kukah, says the meeting with Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, was to witness the reconciliation of a prolonged dispute between the two leaders.
In a recent interview, Kukah said his visit was strictly to witness the reconciliation. According to him, he was aware of the reconciliation but his involvement was apolitical. He said he advised the former president to have the re conciliatory meeting behind closed doors so as to avoid press men politicizing their involvement.
According to Kukah, himself and the other religious leaders, Bishop David Oyedpo and Sheik Gumi, witnessed the reconciliation and then prayed for Obasanjo and Atiku.
After our discussion, which was done behind closed doors we prayed and we took photographs and I left afterwards to attend to other spiritual duties. I was earlier offered a sit in their aircraft and although it was the most convenient offer at the time I declined the offer because I saw it as necessary to ensure that I take no favours from any of the two parties. I was not in Abeokuta to endorse Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). I fully understand the feeling of some persons, who believe I traveled with Alhaji Abubakar, to witness his endorsement by Former President Obasanjo but this was not the case at all. I am a strong believer in a peaceful and united Nigeria and this ideals I strive to achieve as a priest. My instincts to always initiate reconciliation and peace were sharpened during my involvement and experience with the Oputa Panel'' he said

''Withdraw the travel ban placed on 50 prominent Nigerians' -Femi Falana

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has told President Buhari to immediately withdraw the travel ban placed on 50 prominent Nigerians by his government. According to the legal luminary, the travel ban is out to ridicule the government and place them in a position that makes it appear as if it does not know what they are doing.

Falana in a statement released yesterday October 14th, said the those that would be placed on the travel ban are already on the watch-list of security agencies and courts since they are standing trial for corrupt practices.
Falana argued that there was no need for the Federal government to initiate a process placing the Nigerians on watch-list since most of the courts where they are standing trial have their passports and only issue it out to them whenever the need arises. Read his statement below
