Ben Bruce pulls out of 2019 senatorial race

Senator Ben Murray Bruce representing Bayelsa east, has withdrawn from the race to represent his constituency in 2019.  

The common sense senator made this known in a letter he wrote to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday.  

The senatorial primary election of PDP is scheduled for Tuesday. Bruce attributed his withdrawal from the race to the need to allow someone else from the constituency fly the banner of the PDP in 2019.

Former Education Minister, Oby Ezekwesili and the senior Pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly, Tunde Bakare, are set to declare their interest to run for president come 2019.

Pastor Bakare disclosed this while speaking at an annual freedom rally tagged “This Is My Nigeria” that took place at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos today Monday October 1st.

'I have it on good authority that Governor Ajimobi doesn’t have NYSC certificate' - Adebayo Shittu





The Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu, has alleged that Governor Abiola Ajimobi, is against his governorship ambition for fear of being jailed.  

Shittu made the allegation during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics where he said, “Abiola Ajimobi thinks and has been telling his supporters that if Adebayo Shittu succeeds him, he will be jailed”.

BREAKING: Once again, APC postpones Lagos governorship primaries to Tuesday, October 2nd

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rescheduled the Lagos governorship primary billed for today.

Also rescheduled are primaries for Enugu and Adamawa states. The mode of primaries for Enugu and Adamawa states has been changed from indirect to direct.

APC governorship aspirant, Jide Sanwo-Olu has reacted to the claims made by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, that he was arrested in the US sometime ago for spending fake US dollars at a club.

Ambode at a press conference this afternoon, also alleged that Sanwa-Olu went for rehab at the Gbagada general hospital. 
Sanwa-Olu in a statement released this evening denied the allegation, saying the claim by the governor has no iota of truth. Read the statement he released below

Lagos 2019: Tinubu releases official statement,  rejects Ambode and formally endorses Sanwo-Olu

APC National leader, Bola Tinubu, has released a statement officially endorsing Jide Sanwo-Olu and rejecting the incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode..

In the statement released this evening, Tinubu said the blueprint of Lagos State which is his brainchild between 1999-2007, was followed through by his successor, Tunde Fashola but has now being deviated from by the incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode. 

The statement comes shortly after Ambode addressed a press conference in which he made some allegation against Sanwo-Olu.

 Former deputy governor of Central bank, Adelabu, wins Oyo state APC governorship primary

The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State on Sunday held its governorship congress at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, with former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Adebayo Adelabu, emerging the party’s governorship candidate after other contestants stepped down for him.
 
Joseph Tegbe, who was touted as Goveror Abiola Ajimobi’s choosen candidate, and other aspirants willingly stepped down from the race, except for Adeniyi Akintola (SAN) who was adamant on a full primary. But as the election began, the Akintola also withdrew from the race.
 
Adelabu is the grandson of the Ibadan notable politician, Adegoke Adelabu, popularly known as Penkelemesi (peculiar mess).
