The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State has given automatic tickets to Senator Shehu Sani, Suleiman Abdul Kwari and Barnabas Yusuf Bala.  

The Senator, who represents Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, had expressed his reservations with the decision of the party in the state to adopt indirect primaries.

'I did not receive N750m from APC' - Fela Durotoye



Fela Durotoye, a 2019 presidential candidate under the Alliance for New Nigeria has reacted to reports which alleged that “APC deployed 1.3billion Naira to stop Hashim as Fela Durotoye got N750m to split ANN”.

The article further alleged that conditions for his receiving the money stated that after his campaign would have gained significant momentum, he would step down for the current vice-president.

Lagos APC chairman, Alhaji Tunde Balogun, has declared Babajide Sanwo-Olu as winner of today's APC governorship primary.  

According to him, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode scored 72,901 votes while Jide Sanwo-Olu got 970,851 thereby making him the winner of the APC primaries which he described as 'free and fair'.

2019: ANN dissociates self from another presidential primary following the emergence of Fela Durotoye

The National Chairman of Alliance for New Nigeria, Emmanuel Dania has dissociated himself and the party from a publication in the Punch on October 1st 2018 signed by the National Secretary of the party, Alhaji Saheed Umar, where another Presidential Primary was announced for Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018 and the appointment of Dr. Jay Osi Samuels as the Acting Chairman of the party. 

Dania in the same statement mentioned that the Board of Trustees of the party had met and issued a statement affirming his position as the National Chairman of the party and the affirmation of the emergence of the party’s presidential candidate, Fela Durotoye, during the special convention and Presidential Primary that held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Abuja which was duly witnessed and reported by representative of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Senior Pastor of the Household of God church, Chris Okotie, has declared his intention to run for president in the 2019 election. 

He declared his intention to run for the presidency under the platform of the Fresh Democratic Party during a service to commemorate the nation’s Independence Day at his church yesterday October 1st.

Nigeria does not need Transparency International to Authenticate the government's war against corruption- Femi Adesina



The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has faulted reports by Transparency International's report that corruption has increased in Nigeria.

In an interview with Channels TV last night, Adesina said increase in corruption index has to do with Nigerians being involved in the perpetuation of the act and not just in government circle. 

The presidential spokesperson noted that Nigeria’s fall from 136 to 148 on Corruption Perception Perception Index (CPI) for 2017, two years after the Federal Governmentbegan its anti-corruption war, is primarily because of the involvement of Nigerians in acts of corruption. He argued that the increase in corruption index is not a poor reflection on the government.

75-year old Useni polled 1,018 votes to defeat 12 other candidates at the party’s primary held on Sunday.
