Ex Minister, Obanikoro, reacts to the raiding of his Lagos homes by EFCC operatives yesterday

Former Minister of state for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, has reacted to the invasion of his Ikoyi homes by some operatives of EFCC yesterday June 14th (Read here). In his statement which he shared via his twitter handle this morning, Obanikoro said that he has never been invited by EFCC officials. According to him, the invasion of his homes "is a sad throwback to a Tyrannical Past that is Better Forgotten". Read his statement below ...

'Buhari has not allocated any oil Bloc' - Kachikwu says

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, yesterday disclosed that President Buhari has not allocated any oil bloc since assuming office. ‎Kachikwu said this while speaking at the Federal government town hall meeting held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

"I will say that the leadership of the senate under Senator Bukola Saraki has done brilliantly well but we would have done better if not for this planted distractions by people who are ambitious, people who do not want to accept defeat because everyone is ambitious. I am ambitious. Like I want to be the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It shouldn't be a crime"he said
When asked about his seriousness about his ambition, Dino said " I will be"

Remembering MKO And June 12 By Reuben Abati

This day, June 12 will always be remembered by those who have defied the culture of silence and conspiracy against a significant moment in Nigerian history, to remind us of how today, 23 years ago, the battle against the exit of the military from power was fought at the ballot by a determined Nigerian people.
It is indeed sad that apart from the South West states of Oyo, Ogun, Lagos and Osun which have doggedly continued to celebrate the hero, and later martyr of that battle, Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, there has been studied indifference to the June 12 phenomenon by the Federal Government and remarkably, the rest of Nigeria.
This is sadder still because MKO Abiola was not an ethnic champion: he was a man of pan-Nigerian vision and ambition, who went into politics to give the people hope, to unite them and lead them out of poverty. His campaign manifesto was instructively titled “Hope 93- Farewell to Poverty: How to make Nigeria a better place for all.

President of the Nigeria Medical Association NMA, Mike Ogrima, has refuted claims that Nigerian doctors cannot treat President Buhari's ear, forcing him to travel to the UK to see an ENT doctor.

Speaking to journalists in Jos, Plateau state yesterday June 9th, Ogrima who is a professor of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, said Nigerian doctors are capable of handling any health challenge President Buhari is facing.

“For all those Bernie Sanders supporters who have been left out in the cold by a rigged system of super delegates, we welcome you with open arms,” he said from his golf course resort in Westchester, New York.
